Searching Sex Offenders in your Communities
People convicted of sex offenders have always lived in our communities, but until the Community Protection Act of 1990 (which mandates sex offender registration) that law enforcement know where they live and to monitor there where abouts. Nowadays law enforcement will share is information with the public.
Now trying to search them is relatively simple. You can search them by names, dates of birth. Search results contain detailed information about offender in your area: names, aliases, photos, home addresses, and offense details. Some of these results provided an accurate map of the offender’s locations.
Citizens should not depend exclusively on the sex offender registry as a protection against perpetrators of sexual assault in their communities. The crime for which a person is convicted may not accurately reflect the level of risk.
